CORKYEES
Corkyees hail from Tokyo, Japan and
create a heady mixture of
Drum'n'Bass, Trip-Hop and guitar
music. They make some of the most
incredibly dance-able music this / that
side of the world!
Consisting of four members - Ishi, Nyo,
Jam and Kuno - Corkyees play live in
Tokyo regularly and have had tracks
appear on several albums and
cassettes in Japan.
Nyo, the vocalist, comes from a Jazz
background, together these four
individuals have basically astounded
us with their music.
In the vein of Roni Size / Massive
Attack and the whole Bristol sound
Corkyees however, put more than just
a hint of Japan into the mix.
Corkyees are due to release one,
as yet untitled, album for Iris Light in
the next year and this will be their first
release outside of their native country.
Wait with baited breath for this,
if the demo is anything to go by it will
be outstanding.
