GENERIC is Iris Light Records boss Adam Sykes.

Working in the “ambient” and “experimental” fields
of music he is creating sound recordings based around
“Sound FX” and “Foley Tracks” as used by Film
and TV companies.

Adam Sykes has a long standing affinity with this area of
sound, having worked as a Boom Operator for both Film
and TV Productions prior to and, during, running
Iris Light Records.

With GENERIC Adam has taken base Foley
recordings - door slams, bottle breaks,
etc. - deconstructed, manipulated and processed
them into eerie and exploratory sound recordings
ranging from dark ambience, noise and
mechanical-tinged industrial.

Generic first album (TORTURE) came out on a
new label "Fractured Spaces" in July / August 2008.

To celebrate this, and to allow people to discover
more of the music of GENERIC I made a sampler
CDR containing 1 track from each release available now.

The album is inkjet printed,
with full colour booklet and inlay in a clear-trayed
jewel case.
